Release orca Morgan back into the wild!

Orca Morgan was found malnourished and dehydrated in the Wadden Sea, off the northwestern coast of the Netherlands on the 23rd of June, 2010. Although EU law states that captured orcas must be returned to the wild, the Dolfinarium at Harderwijk who 'rescued' her had no intention of releasing her. Morgan was sold to Loro Parque, Tenerife and now lives in a small unnatural environment away from her family.

Florida's Hillsboro lighthouse navigates turtles to their death

Sea turtles use light as a navigation tool, instinctively moving toward light at night. Sand dunes typically obscure the night’s natural light from their view, and this instinct to follow the light allows them to then find the sea. But when artificial lights shine above the sand dunes, sea turtles can become disoriented and wander inland to their death.

Ask the US Coast Guard to take measures to save sea turtles ►

Years ago, the European Parliament decided to ban all cosmetic products and ingredients tested on animals within the European Union by March 2013. Shamefully, companies like ICI PARIS XL have no intention to act with compassion before this date.

Welcome to Maxfield... and their 2012 collection

At the beginning of a campaign by Fur Free West Hollywood, celebrity-driven Maxfield agreed to remove and end the sale of all fur - like baby blankets and motor cycle helmets - from their West Hollywood store. They removed the fur, but then restocked it and actively oppose to a planned fur ban in West Hollywood by writing letters to the Mayor and other people of importance.

University of Virginia: stop abusing cats!

At the University of Virginia (UVA), pediatric endotracheal intubation training involves residents repeatedly forcing a breathing tube down the throats of kittens and adult cats. This causes tracheal bruising, bleeding, scarring, severe pain, and permanent injury. But the anatomical differences between these animals and humans render this type of training ineffective.

Ask the UVA to stop forcing tubes down the throats of cats ►

Out of the zoo... into a sanctuary!

For most of the year, Bamboo, Chai, and Watoto live 16 to 17 hours a day in a small, barren barn room. When they finally get outdoors they only have a fraction of an acre. The Elephant Sanctuary in Hohenwald, Tennessee already agreed to take the elephants in for free, so they can enjoy 2.700 acres of hills, fields, forests, and a 25 acre lake.

Incredible India? Incredible cruelty!

Jallikattu, or Manju Virattu, takes place in Palamedu and Alanganallur, two villages near the temple town of Madurai in Tamil Nadu, India and is a cruel contact game in which terrified bulls are surrounded by hundreds of shouting men, are hit with fists, have their tails twisted and pulled - or even snapped and broken – and are jumped on and wrestled to the ground.

Ask the Indian Tourism Minister to enforce the ban on Jallikattu ►

Help end duck shooting in Australia

The beautiful wetlands of South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria should be safe havens for wildlife; instead every year in Autumn and early Winter they become killing fields. At this moment the lives of hundreds of thousands of native waterbirds are under threat. Tasmania and Victoria have already confirmed that they will permit a duck hunting season in 2012 and South Australia will also soon decide.

PA Shame: protest Pennsylvania's pigeon shoot

Pigeon shoots are vile competitions where thousands of birds are shot, killed or suffer terrible wounds and crippling pain. These innocent animals are neither fed nor given water for days before the shooting starts, so that they will be easier targets. Suffering from dehydration and starvation, they are then launched out of small wooden boxes and into a storm of gunfire.

Ask Air France-KLM to stop primate shipments for vivisection

Every year tens of thousands of primates are transported by air around the world for the international research industry. Some are trapped in the wild while others are bred in captivity usually in large-scale facilities. They are ripped from their family groups, packed into small wooden crates and travel as cargo, predominantly on passenger air flights, on extremely long journeys to research laboratories around the world.

Ask Air France-KLM to stop their involvement in this cruelty ►

Close down the world's last circuses with dolphins

Indonesia is home to the world’s last remaining traveling dolphin circuses. Over 72 dolphins are kept in the most appalling of conditions to perform for audiences across the island of Java. The animals are frequently hauled out of their plastic pools and loaded into trucks along with other animals as the circuses move from town to town. Many of the dolphins die due to stress and lack of proper care during transportation.
